Vithas Completes Group-Wide Digital Transformation With Globant, Unifying Care and Operations Across Spain

• The VithasOne program standardizes processes and a single patient record across 22 hospitals and 39 medical centers, incorporating over 12,600 staff and millions of patient records

The initiative, developed in phases by Globant as part of the VithasOne team, has reshaped the way Vithas operates by creating a unified digital ecosystem that today serves 12,600 professionals across its 22 hospitals and 39 medical and care centers. It also automates millions of billing and physician fee rules, representing a step-change in operational consistency and throughput.

Born from a network of acquired hospitals with heterogeneous systems, Vithas entrusted Globant to harmonize processes and modernize its operations without losing the clinical and regional particularities that define each hospital. Through VithasOne, the Group has achieved a single patient record across the network, streamlined system architecture, standardized processes, and centralized management reporting that combines clinical, financial, and operational data. 

The program also modernized the patient journey, introducing digital admissions with self-check-in kiosks and tablet-based e-signatures, along with a paperless document management system. These improvements not only increase efficiency but also strengthen compliance with GDPR and International Joint Commission standards, ensuring data integrity and quality of care across the Group.

To support clinicians and staff at scale, VithasOne also integrates with national and sector platforms for electronic prescription and drug catalogs, insurer and public-administration billing, and core departmental systems including diagnostic imaging, laboratory, coding, and the patient portal.
