“Media Archive AI,” a collaborative IVN solution powered by Google Cloud’s generative AI, aims to accelerate time-to-value realization and enable new catalog monetization opportunities for media & entertainment customers
SAN FRANCISCO – October 14, 2024 – Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, and Quickplay, a leader in cloud transformations of OTT experiences for Telcos, Broadcasters and Sports, today announced that they have collaborated with Google Cloud to create a Google Cloud Industry Value Network (IVN) solution for media and entertainment customers. Industry Value Networks bring together the expertise and solutions of systems integrators (SIs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and content partners to deliver comprehensive, differentiated, and repeatable high-value solutions on Google Cloud.
Globant and Quickplay’s IVN, “Media Archive AI,” is revolutionizing the way archival media footage is accessed and utilized, by leveraging the power of advanced machine learning and generative AI to digitize, enrich, and store vast quantities of archival footage and integrate and monetize with VOD, FAST channels and live broadcast.
“As the media and entertainment landscape rapidly evolves, companies are under growing pressure to streamline the rights, tracking, management, and monetization of their content in order to accelerate their time-to-market and explore new business opportunities,” said Diego Tártara, Chief Technology Officer at Globant. “By working with innovative industry leader and Google Cloud expert Quickplay, we have been able to create an Industry Value Network solution specifically designed to address these critical business challenges, empowering companies to produce and distribute more compelling content with greater efficiency on Google Cloud.”
With Media Archive AI, content is meticulously converted from tapes and other traditional storage methods into digital formats and housed in a Google Cloud-based storage system. It is then enriched and tagged for easy indexing, searching and distributing within a modern, flexible Content Management System (CMS). The natural language search capabilities of Google Cloud Vertex AI and Gemini models also help enable the swift retrieval of content. This functionality is pivotal for incorporating clips into streaming and broadcasts, crafting dynamic and personalized channels, and enhancing services with targeted archival video content. It also marks a significant leap towards unlocking new acquisition, retention, engagement and monetization avenues in enabling content creators and programmers to leverage historical footage in compelling and innovative ways.
“Generative AI is a transformative solution to the industry-wide problem of accessing, discovering and monetizing vast troves of archival content,” said Paul Pastor, Founder and CBO at Quickplay. “This Media Archive AI solution simplifies the buying process for media companies and provides a time-to-market advantage in digitizing, indexing, publishing and distributing relevant, contextual and targeted content offerings.”
“IVN solutions reduce the need for customers to create custom-built solutions for common industry challenges," said Albert Lai, Global Director, Strategic Industries at Google Cloud. "With Media Archive AI, Globant and Quickplay are combining Google Cloud’s AI capabilities with their own innovation and expertise to tackle practical challenges and achieve significant business results. This showcases how innovation with enterprise AI can accelerate digital transformation.”
