The company ranked 6th and was recognized for contributing to initiatives to reduce carbon emissions while empowering social communities in Peru and India.
NEW YORK – October 7, 2024 - Globant (NYSE: GLOB), a digitally native company focused on reinventing businesses through innovative technology solutions, ranked #6 on Fortune's 2024 Change the World list out of an initial 250 companies for its overall sustainability commitment and specifically for the collaboration with the Qori Q'oncha program, implemented and managed by Microsol in Peru, and the Green Energy Farming Project with Jnana Prabodhini in India.
To compensate for its 2023 corporate carbon emissions while empowering communities, Globant supported these initiatives fostering an autonomous and sustainable future, significantly enhancing life quality in both regions. The two sustainable programs supported by Globant are the QoriQ’oncha program with Microsol in Peru, which positively impacts life quality for rural families by providing Improved Cookstoves (ICS), and the Green Energy Farming project with Jnana Prabodhini in India, which supports rural women heads of households in Velhe, Maharashtra, by training them in cultivating Napier Grass, which is transformed into energy pellets for heating and selling, providing them with additional income.
The investment made by Globant in Microsol's Qori Q’Oncha program, in 2023, made a profound impact by avoiding the release of 12,000 tCO2e into the atmosphere as greenhouse gas emissions. The Green Energy Farming project in India prevented 10 tons of wood from deforestation while improving the overall quality of life for over 6,500 beneficiaries.
